Ahhh! The smell of freshly washed clothes... Dip your nose in the blankets that have just been dried on the clothesline... Let’s admit it, we all do it! Now that winter is just around the corner and we can no longer hang our laundry on the clothesline, that's no reason for our clothes to smell bad!That's why we wanted to share with you our 3 miracle tricks to make your clothes, sheets and towels smell good. All this in an eco-friendly way!Fabric SoftenerOur Laundry Detergent does not technically need to be combined with fabric softener: the sum of its ingredients makes it soften fabrics and reduce static electricity. BUT we know that you want your clothes to be clean AND to smell great! One of the best ways to do this is to add a capful of our Fabric Softener to your load. Use the same aroma as your Detergent to enhance the scent, or make mixes (Vanessa loves to mix Lavender Detergent with Almond Blossom Fabric Softener!). And if you hang your clothes to dry inside, the whole house will smell great!Linen WaterFor clothes you want to be lightly scented or simply to refresh those that have been lying in the back of your wardrobe for too long: spray them with Linen Water! As it is water-based, it is safe for fabrics and won’t stain them. And the aroma will stay on your clothes all day long. We also like to spray it generously on our couches, sheets, cushions and even on our curtains! You will thank us later ;-)Odour eliminatorSportsmen and women in the square? To deodorize clothes, gym bag or even shoes that smell funny, spray Odour Eliminator on them without moderation. In addition to leaving a soft aroma on fabrics, Odour Eliminator will destroy sources of odour thanks to the microorganisms it contains. And if you don't play sports, you can also deodorize your dog's bed without any danger to their health.

Jessica's Testimonial on Pure's Eco-friendly Fundraising Campaign
In the summer of 2019, I went to the community of Villa Riva in the Dominican Republic to participate in the expansion of an educational community garden that was set up in the summer of 2018 and to which I contributed. This project, overseen by the Youth Foundation for Sustainable Development and the organization Acompa Mundo, aimed to train young people from the community in the basics of permaculture so that they could gradually take charge of the garden. In addition, it was a good way to prevent juvenile delinquency and to provide tools to promote self-sufficiency.Having caught the international cooperation bug, I was to return to the same community in the summer of 2020 to participate in the construction of an eco-responsible house made of recycled tires and bottles. A great way to contribute to the preservation of our environment as well as the well-being of a family in need! Unfortunately, this international cooperation mission has been postponed to a later date due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.In order to help me finance these projects, I contacted a company in my home region that I particularly like: Pure. In addition to smelling good and being effective, Pure household and body products are biodegradable, not tested on animals and allow for a significant reduction in plastic consumption since they are sold in bulk and can be refilled over and over again. The company's values are therefore directly related to my eco-responsible home construction project in Dominican Republic.Pure’s fundraising campaign concept is simple. In addition to being healthy, the products are easy to sell because they meet a universal need: cleanliness! Plus, they offer a wide variety of products so that there is something for everyone, and the products offered in the campaign are sold at the same price as in store. Depending on the option chosen, each participant can take orders on a form or ask his or her buyers to do so directly on the website. All this (ordering and payment) can be done remotely (I live in Gatineau and the company is located in Saint-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska) and that's it! The order arrives very quickly at the location desired by the participant or the buyers. Once their bottles are empty, they can go to one of the company’s retailers to fill their bottles with products sold in bulk! What’s better than encouraging a local business!Without any hesitation, I recommend that you contact the people at Pure for your fundraising campaign. August 22, 2020 : Earth Overshoot Day
I don't know if this is good news or bad news. Last Saturday, August 22nd, was earth overshoot day. That’s when we exhausted all our resources on earth for the year 2020. Did you know that? Basically, we have 4 months left before New Year's Eve party, living with the same – already loaded – credit card. Until the end of 2020, we’re living beyond our means. According to the Global Footprint Network, we’re living at a rate of 1.6 planets (when we only have one). This is still far too much! In 2019, July 29th was earth overshoot day. The pandemic allowed us to gain 3 weeks over last year. Good news! The new habits we have adopted are bearing fruit: making our list before going out, limiting our trips, buying local in bulk, getting deliveries! We must not lose all these good new habits. We really hope you got into bulk this year, because bulk, among many other actions, has helped our beautiful planet get better (you should read our blog about it: I can finally breathe!).Changing habits spontaneously is not easy - we know that. We're here for you, and we won't let you down! We'll continue to show you how simple and easy it is to buy in bulk. And most importantly, we'll continue to talk to you about the environment. It's our priority to focus on eco-responsible choices. Because we are much more than just soap bottles. The day we will stop repeating tips about the environment is when everyone will put their heart into it.

Our vacation in Quebec!
Since the beginning of summer, social networks have been flooded with so many pictures of landscapes, rivers, but most of all, smiles. Quebecers have (re)discovered Quebec's regions and nature during their vacation. Spectacular shots of our forests, flowers and, above all, our beautiful St. Lawrence river. People finally came to see the most beautiful sunset in the province, in Rivière-du-Loup (2nd in the world!).Through all these pictures, we saw a lot of softness. And that really warmed our hearts. Lots of beautiful tourists, proud to be close to natural wonders. So inspiring, so relaxing. Through it all, I couldn't help but think about how important it is to take care of it. We’re aware that we are privileged here in the Lower St. Lawrence to get to see the river every day, and it motivates us to take care of it every day as well. At Pure, we take action to keep it beautiful for a long time. This is our commitment.Because we want to see you here again next summer, we need your help too. Bulk Revolution, by Pure!
Bulk has been gaining in popularity for many years, and we are so happy to see a change happening all around us! Because at Pure, it has been our way of life for over 10 years now! We were pioneers for cleaners in bulk (and we are so proud of that!).This spring, one of our favourite events, Expo Manger Santé et Vivre Vert, unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. We had prepared a small conference/interview to tell our little story and most importantly, to show you that we are much more than just soap bottles! New trend alert: “Saved by Pure!”
Before, we had television and fashion magazines. Now we have social media: the perfect place to influence us to buy and buy even more. Because everything is going so fast. New companies, new collections, new trends... there’s always something new! Poor quality clothes at ridiculously low prices. The perfect combination to incite consumers to buy fashionable ephemeral goods that they will quickly get rid of (because they’re so cheap!), and then buy more. And we've probably all been guilty of that at one time or another! That's what fast fashion is all about. A trend that isn't really ethical and, obviously, far from being eco-friendly. @fannyyockellHave you heard of slow fashion? It's the complete opposite of fast fashion. Production that respects the environment, animals and humans. Of course, our eco-responsible, sustainable and zero waste values naturally lead us to be leaning towards this trend.Obviously, to consume in a more sustainable way, we love:Shopping at local thrift stores or second-hand stores to buy or sell “old” clothes.Finding decorative objects in antiques or yard salesGet new good quality clothing from companies that promote ethical production, with respect for workers and the planet (yes, they exist!!!).@authentiqueandréanneBUT before buying new things, we think it’s especially important to take care of the clothes and objects we already own so that they stay in good condition longer. In short, we wear them out! And when we buy quality pieces, it's even easier! Pants with holes can be saved by Grandma's sewing machine. Say something or nothing, speak or listen!
There have been many debates, messages and injustices in the past week.We were attentive and it was natural for our team to learn more about the sad reality that is racism.Since last Tuesday, we took a break: giveaways, advertising, posts. Because we made the choice not to dilute the important information that was flowing. Until a few days ago, the focus on social media was on buying local. Still, we have to remember that we are living a pandemic and that times are hard for all businesses. And yes, this decision not to publish anything means that our online sales this week have dropped a lot because we were no longer "active". I know that our sales are not equal to the problem of our company right now. And that's totally true! However, this decision could have resulted in the temporary layoff of some members in our team. We have worked very hard at Pure since the beginning of the crisis, and we are proud to say that we have kept our entire team of 35 team members employed.However, no one has been insensitive to what has been going around all week. I salute Sarah Couture and Léonie Pelletier, who have spread good words. Thanks to Alexandre Champagne and Maude Carmel for taking the time to educate us (again) and sharing inspiring people with us. We saw our fave foodie Jessica Prdnc everywhere, finally! Andréanne Marquis told me about the nasty messages she received (let’s remember that she just donated $20,000 to Moisson Quebec). Brands, influencers, entrepreneurs have received a lot of pressure. Social media communities asked them to speak out, to cry out for injustice. What if they didn't want to be opportunistic? What if they wanted to make room for those who had things to teach us? Because bullying is out, just like racism! Don't waste your energy denigrating and criticizing, use that rage or voice to share your message and support your cause. What did you do last week to help the cause? @jessicaprdncPersonally, I read, watched and mostly cried. It's inconceivable to me that people still go through this kind of trauma (I still cry just thinking about it and my dark circles are just even bigger). No, I didn't watch the whole George Floyd video, because I find it too heartbreaking to watch someone die. I'm not saying that life is going to go back to normal today, but yes, we'll start publishing content again at Pure and educate you about the environment. The whole team will stay on top of what's happening on our planet, as much in terms of the environment as anything else, because it's part of our values.Eat in the restaurants you want, listen to the music you like, donate to the foundation that touches you personally, read the books that inspire you, shop for the clothes that make you feel beautiful, continue to educate yourself on subjects you don't know about, because THIS is the change our world needs! @jenyferhodgson
