Black friday don't get too crazy
For years, it's madness when the Black Friday arrives, these discounts appear a week or two before the beginning of December. But that has not always been like that. We all have the image of those people who run when the doors open at Macy's in New York, mainly screaming people to get the special product before it's gone on the shelf. This reality has changed again with the arrival of the internet; this crazy race to overconsumption is even more scary today because the ability to order now everything you want in a single click has exponential negative effects for our planet. We live in a society that is influenced by profit, a world that continually creates new needs. For some this may be synonymous with decay. The sales of Black Friday will not help the cause again this year: the chain is like that, we consume more, we produce more and we pollute more. Many people think that the economy and the environment must go hand in hand, but what do you want us to do not go there, "money is still leading the world" as your father would say. Transition and balance If we talk about the positive, a lot has changed in recent years. We are talking more and more about environmental issues in the media and it is a less taboo subject in our communities. In addition, a historic event occurred on November 4, 2016; in fact, 195 countries signed the Paris Agreement, the first major environmental treaty on an international scale. It is clear that much work remains to be done to change attitudes towards the environment, but we can still see positive steps in the right direction. The big powers such as the United States, which has notably emerged from this treaty after the election of Donald Trump, and China, the most polluting country in the world, will have to act as a leader. We will have to be patient to see more results coming from the political field, but what makes us confident in the future is to see a new commitment of many spheres of the population towards the stake of this new century which concerns us all. We will get there with a lot of patience and willpower. Today's engaged population will be stronger tomorrow as future generations become more sophisticated consumers. It is proven that it takes us 21 days to change a habit, so with a little will and consistency we can succeed. Future generations have environmental consciousness and it is mainly because of them that things will change but no one can no longer stand idly by, each of us must do his part. At Pure we strive to create more jobs, more revenue, but also to produce and operate more responsibly. Our sustainable concept is to counter the plague of plastic. Our efforts are mainly to market our high-performance products and make bulk more accessible. For the last ten years we have been proud to say that we care about the environment with our bulk filling stations and activists (sales points), which are now over 500 across the country. All this because we believe in the transition to a greener world through a better balance between the economy and the environment. Black Friday It's also your right to say no to Black Friday as the first of the 5Rs teaches it so well (refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle and compost). But if you have things to buy, we encourage you this Friday to buy local and, above all, to buy what you really need. Pure will be part of it, for the first time we decided to participate and offer a promotion under the black friday. As Andréanne Marquis did not hide his love for the Multisurface 10L format, we offer you $ 5 off to properly equip you for bulk at home (and / or business). Other promotions are ongoing on the purebio.net, such as 20% off all body care 500ml and 1L format including Christmas sets and mystery oNature linen water with the purchase of $ 50 and more. We have thought of you by preparing all these Black Friday promotions and we wish you all happy holidays in advance.
Learn moreHealth Canada labelling legislation
Health Canada labelling legislation requires any reseller of household products to display containers at all times: The name of the productThe name of the manufacturerThe instructions for useThe warning Our products are generally more concentrated than the products of other brands so the instruction of the product is very important to save. The warning is also very important. Imagine if a child drinks the products that comes from an unidentified mason jar. All bottles of Pure products are transparent to facilitate the refill. In addition, each product can not go in some type of plastic. Aluminium must absolutely be refused because it reacts with the products. Carton will break down over time with household product having a low or high indoors ph. Our bottles and labels are have been specifically chosen to last as long as possible. As a manufacturer, we pay more for our components so we can reuse them as long as possible. Our website is unique and allows the store and consumers to have all thenecessary information to promote the products (selling points, ingredients, instructions for use, warning, blog, eco-friendly fundraising, commercial program company, photos and more) If you have more question, do not hesitate to reach us. info@totalfabrication.ca. Learn moreWashing routine for cloths diapers according to Omaïki community
We are very happy to have been working closely with the Omaïki gang for the last few months. The girls tested and approved our new laundry for washable diapers and even gave us a 101 course for the best wash routine for washable diapers. Here are the steps to follow:1- Wash the cloths diapers every 3 days. You can do it in cold water or hot water, at the discretion of mom or dad.Cold water = ecological and avoids staining It is recommended to alternate also with hot water washes to wash deeper.Hot water = better cleaning and rinsing power.2- Add laundry detergent for cloth diapers to your load and follow the directions for use.HE front washer: 15 ml laundry detergent for washable diapersConventional washer: 30 ml laundry detergent for washable diapers Continue the routine with an extra rinse with warm or hot water. 3- Dry the cloth diapers at least twice a month in the dryer. This helps to tighten the fibers of the fabric and avoids the risk of leaks. For other times, enjoy the beautiful weather to dry in the open air. The sun is a powerful stain remover. You can also defeat stains with Pure Stain Remover or Omaïki by Pure Stripping powder and Stain Remover Powder. Voilà ! A simple and effective routine. This technique can also be applied for washable pads.Thank you Omaïki!
Learn more21 days, in my everyday life
I have started being vegetarian and interested in green and natural alternatives in 2014. It really triggered my "green process." Today, in 2019, I'm a lot more vegan than veggie, I make my own household products, I refuse many things, for years I do not put makeup, I opt as much as possible for local and natural. I always take versatile ingredients too, which can be used for both body and hair for example. Or as vinegar, which can serve as a cleaning product in the kitchen but also as a softener in the washer. It's so economical! I wonder a lot about my choices and the impact of each. I think it's really the basis for starting a "change." Ask yourself. Search. Interest. Because we spend more than half the time in our apartment or our house. Why water it with chemicals products? We sleep there, we eat there, we live there squarely. Same thing about what we apply to our body. Our skin absorbs everything, like a sponge. For me, it has been a long process. (Really nice anyway!) We have more and more alternatives and it's so exciting to see the zero waste movement grow more and more. A small change at a time, it is enough to find the "solutions" that suit you. Once you have found, your body, your mind and your wallet will say thank you!
Learn moreReducing at the source is a question that comes before the others: “do I really need it?”
The Pure team thought of preparing a blog post to tell you about Quebec's Waste Reduction Week and how you can take part in it on a daily basis. In recent weeks, some team members participated in the Montreal Zero Waste Festival and the conference "Being an Eco-Responsible Citizen" by Steven Guilbeault, environmentalist, speaker and co-founder of Équiterre . It was very inspiring. This opinion piece, written by the contributors, offers opinions and reflections on reducing waste in everyday life. For more information, visit the Quebec Waste Reduction Week website for ideas, tips and tricks, and great blog links. What is reducing? Reducing at source is a question that comes before the others: "Do I really need it?" Then come the other behaviors: reusing, composting and recycling. Reducing means consuming less and better. It also means changing your consumption habits: Repair your belongings Choose bulk Favor local purchases Avoid over-packaging Think about the production and life chain of our goods, the conditions in which they were manufactured, their lifespan and in our lives. Consume differently It's not easy, but it is possible. We were born into a culture and an era where owning property is valued. Fortunately, attitudes are evolving, forcing us to question situations that may have previously seemed normal. And why not promote voluntary simplicity and minimalism? Many say it: there are advantages to owning less: having more time (less maintenance of belongings), more freedom (financial and mobile), and the chance to connect with what really matters. Consuming better by making more eco-responsible choices also means returning to basics, to simplicity, and perhaps even to common sense. And it also means appreciating what we own more. Beauty and responsible consumption This topic is certainly quite contradictory. And why not reduce this contradiction? This topic affects us because we work in the "beauty" field and we are aware that for others, it may seem superficial. We all need to dress ourselves and furnish our "homes," don't we? So, let's try to find the balance between beauty and more responsible consumption. Steve Jobs , Mark Zuckerberg , Barack Obama , Matilda Kahl … What do they have in common? The freedom and simplicity of dressing the same way every day. Sometimes just for work, sometimes all the time, and with a few similar variations. We find the idea so simple and brilliant! Basically, they eliminate one unnecessary decision from their lives every morning to focus on what really matters and the important decisions. They save time, they always feel good in their clothes, they are not judged on their "look," and they consume less clothing! We can also add to the list of benefits: financial savings. What if fashion became about owning fewer clothes and wearing them more? What if we, too, did like Marck or Matilda on a smaller scale? With more neutral colors, patterns, and cuts, it's easier to harmonize with the rest of your wardrobe and overcome the ephemerality of fashion. Consuming less doesn't have to be boring. In the home, it can also be the same thing by favoring more durable and neutral furniture and materials. For decor fans, changing the cushion covers occasionally, as well as the arrangement or presentation of accessories, adds sparkle to a room. Why not vary the arrangement of furniture or its use? Repair, refurbish, exchange, buy and give away Back to basics: repair rather than replace, upcycle used purchases and give objects a new lease on life. Do some " switch & bitch" » (in reference to the magnificent web series of the same name on tout.tv) of clothing, but also of various items, garage sales or even giving to people who need it more than us. Giving furniture a second life and creating DIY projects is fun, beautiful, eco-friendly, economical, and adds emotional value to objects. They become a story. Plus, Pinterest and Instagram are brimming with ideas for refreshing furniture, rooms, accessories, and more. Photo links: Instagram Pinterest Bulk We can't stress it enough: bulk shopping helps reduce our unnecessary consumption of plastic and packaging at the source. The vast majority of Pure products are available in bulk, and they also save you 25% on your purchase. For other goods, more and more local stores and large centers offer bulk purchases. A simple gesture with a big impact. While there's still room for growth in bulk sales and packaging reduction, it's reassuring to see all the companies now offering bulk purchases. Food More local produce on the plate, giving or exchanging our meals with colleagues and family, freezing them, growing a garden, cooking soups and "touskis" helps avoid food waste. Avoiding buying too much perishable food at once, thinking about menus and making lists before going to the grocery store helps us buy only the essentials. Reducing these greenhouse gas emissions Since December 21, 2016, Total Fabrication (the company that manufactures Pure) has been the first Canadian company to receive the Climate Commitment certification from Ecocert International. Learn moreThe “clean baby” cleaning trio
Our staff have taken a liking to preparing effective trios for you. With the collaboration of the Au pays des merveilles daycare, here is the trio of cleaners for "clean baby." When your child goes from diapers to underwear, this unfortunately involves "little accidents." To be well prepared, we present our three essential products. First of all : Laundry detergent: The formula is designed to dissolve over 95% in water, preventing soap residue from sticking to clothes. It is therefore ideal for sensitive skin prone to irritation, such as that of babies. The product is suitable for all types of clothing. Multi-surface cleaner: Spray directly onto the surface to be cleaned (the floor or directly onto the small pot) then rub with a damp cloth. Kitchen + bathroom cleaner: This product is ideal for cleaning but especially for disinfecting the surfaces of your child's potty. You will find all these products in a store near you or on the online store: http://www.purebio.net/index.php/points-de-vente We wish a lot of courage and patience to all those who are involved in the bobette project ;)
Learn moreTotal Fabrication is involved in a shrub planting project along the Kamouraska River
Renaturalization project As the first Canadian company certified Climate Engagement by ECOCERT, our company Total Fabrication was looking for a carbon offset project. When Arbre-Évolution and Obakir approached us about a project to protect the banks of the Kamouraska River at Camp Richelieu in St-Pascal, we immediately loved the project. It aims to preserve the banks in eroded areas and increase forest cover. More than 60 plants were planted along the river, over a width of more than 2 meters. In addition, the project was enhanced by adding an edible component. "The grounds of Camp Richelieu seemed ideal to us for a 'gourmet landscape' and, since we have expertise in this field, it seemed essential to suggest this addition," says Simon Côté, Arbre-Évolution coordinator. Once said, it was done, on Monday, June 19, 2017, 20 trees and 40 shrubs were planted at Camp Richelieu in St-Pascal. A win-win partnership The development of Camp Richelieu includes the creation of a 350m trail, the addition of a new platform to facilitate fishing, and two new access points to the river made of wood and stone. "For us, it's a way of being consistent with our commitments to the planet. For OBAKIR and the City of St-Pascal, our involvement helps reduce the bill!" explains Denis Beaulieu, President of Total Fabrication.
Learn moreSeptic Tanks and Water Bodies Nearby: What Ingredients to Avoid in Your Household Products?
Do you have a septic tank? Is your residence located near a water body? There are ingredients to avoid in order to protect the ecosystem of our lakes and rivers. Our products are made: Without phosphate Without chlorine Without toxic acid And without any harmful products to the environment, especially for high-risk areas such as the use of a septic tank or a water body near a residence. So, here are a few simple steps to help you think efficiently for a quick, quick cleanup (15 minutes max, we promise!). Gather your products and accessories in a bin or basket. This will save you from running around looking for your products. Consider cleaning the rooms where your guests will be: the kitchen, bathroom and living room. "Let's do this."
